Mayersville Youth Development Committee is a 501©3 nonprofit corporation organized for charitable and educational purposes, more specifically to the enhancement to bridge the educational and technological gap between youth in Issaquena County. Current funding is received through donations from various organizations, companies, etc. While the organization has limited experience in securing grants, it has a history of working with the target community well before it received its nonprofit status in 2002.
           

         The town of Mayersville has donated a library to the organization. Additionally, the organization has use of the town’s multi-purpose building which adjoins the library and has kitchen facilities. Youth in the community have committed volunteer time to set-up the library.
           

          This nonprofit is governed by a Board comprised of seven members representing seven churches and youth directors from these churches. The Board is advisory in nature. The current program focus includes:
